The basic principle of permanent magnet motor

Permanent magnet motor is a kind of motor that utilizes the interaction between the magnetic field generated by permanent magnets and electric current to convert electric energy into mechanical energy. Its basic structure includes a permanent magnet, stator and rotor. The permanent magnet serves as the magnetic pole of the motor and interacts with the current in the stator coil through its own magnetic field to generate torque and transfer mechanical energy to the rotor, realizing the conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy.

Compared with the traditional induction motor, permanent magnet motor has the following advantages:

1. High efficiency: Traditional induction motors have low energy efficiency due to the fact that their magnetic field is generated by the current in the coil and there are induction losses. While the magnetic field of permanent magnet motor is provided by permanent magnets, which can convert electrical energy into mechanical energy more efficiently. According to relevant studies, the efficiency of permanent magnet motors has increased by about 5% to 30% compared with traditional induction motors.

2. High power density: The magnetic field strength of permanent magnet motor is higher than that of induction motor, so it has higher power density.

3. Energy saving: As permanent magnet motors have high efficiency and high power density, this means that they can output more mechanical power with the same input power in the same volume and weight, thus realizing energy saving.

The replacement of inefficient asynchronous induction motors by permanent magnet motors, combined with the correction of operating conditions and frequency control of old and inefficient energy-using equipment, can greatly improve the energy efficiency of energy-using equipment, and the following 2 typical application cases are for reference.
